GOLDENMEAL
Feed whenever there is a dietary requirement for extra calories for either work or to gain condition whilst at work. Contains no minerals or vitamins that will compromise any existing dietary status when it is increased or decreased to meet calorie requirement.
Designed with both the pleasure and the performance horse in mind. At lower levels this feed will help maintain condition and activity at higher levels it will contribute extra stamina and condition when fed in conjunction with a diet adequate in fibre and necessary minerals and vitamins.
COMMENTS - When there is a need to increase the energy level of the horse's diet over and above the calories already provided by the feeding of correct levels of cellulose & hemicelluloses (roughage) and the optimum provision of adequate protein, there are only two choices left namely - soluble carbohydrates (cereals) and fats. The advantages of feeding suitable fats are that they are a very concentrated form of energy to which the healthy horse's digestion is well disposed and they may be considered first. There are though, limits both nutritionally and practically to the amounts of fat you can feed to boost calorie intake thus it remains that when horses start to significantly increase work (increase heartbeat for prolonged periods) there is a call for the feeding of some grain.
Goldenmeals are often produced as bespoke formulas to suit a horses or trainers particular circumstances.
