Formula L94
L94 has a powerful choleretic action that increases the secretion and flow of bile from the liver and improves fat digestion. By its hepato-protective action L94 helps to maintain the parenchyma (organ tissues) against the toxic effects of anthelmintics, antibiotics, chemical drugs and food toxins.
Use L94 to improve the well-being of your horse and as a "pick up". Also use L94 when suffering from any of the following problems:-
| Worming* | Oedemas/Filled legs | *L94 is particularly helpful at the start of a programme to regain optimum blood cell count and in increasing tocopherols, reducing lipid peroxides and helping elevate Super Oxide Dismutase production to aid in recovery from the effects of tying up. | ||||||||||
| Azoturia/Tying up* | Laminitis** | |||||||||||
| Antibiotic/Steroid treatment | Ragwort/plant poisoning | |||||||||||
| Unthriftiness & General debility | Liver Fluke | |||||||||||
| Anaemia* | Low/Incorrect ratio WBC* | |||||||||||
| Hepatitis | Liver degeneration | |||||||||||
| Non-specific Lameness | Initialising Kidney treatment programme | **Feed L94 during and following Laminitis in conjunction with Founderfrei | ||||||||||
| Aflatoxicosis | Leptospirosis. | |||||||||||
| Convalescence after disease | Heavy Metal toxicity | |||||||||||
| Foul faecal odour | Inadvertent feeding of mouldy or rancid feed. | |||||||||||
*L94 is extremely useful in helping mitigate the effects of worming.
L94 is a complicated formula that has taken Trinity several years to formulate amongst other active ingredients some of the herbs it contains are

More about L94
The liver of a 16 hh horse produces some 3.0 Lts of bile per day. The vascular network of the liver is interposed between the gastrointestinal and the systemic circulation. It is often called the antechamber of the heart as it collects all gastrointestinal and splenic blood through the portal vein and delivers it to the right side of the heart. A fifth of the cardiac output of blood passes each minute through the hepatic artery and portal vein through the huge sinusoidal network of the liver.
Besides its secondary and excretory functions, it effectively controls numerous metabolic processes which include the metabolism of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, minerals and water.
During metabolism, waste products are formed and disposed of through the liver, the accumulation of which could otherwise be harmful. For example in a diseased liver there is an accumulation of ammonia, a normal waste product.
It is the seat of synthesis of albumin which maintains the blood volume and transport mechanism. The liver is also actively concerned with reticulo-endothelial activity even when damaged. This capacity can be impaired in acute liver disease or cirrhosis. A large mass of liver is functionally necessary for maintaining and regulating its varied role but even a slight damage can hamper these activities. Recently the role of the liver in various other conditions including inflammation has become obvious. The liver holds a position of singular importance in the overall functions of the horse.
One of the first signs of even a mild liver dysfunction is reflected in lack lustre performance sometimes accompanied by a fall off in appetite this can be followed by a change in the feel of the hair coat, dullness, then lethargy with regular yawning, an inclination to stand with head lowered towards or against a wall. Toxic substances such as moulds and yeasts, drugs, environmental poisons and heavy metals are all capable of causing liver impairment, so too is continual intestinal ill health and stress. Like any continual process if it slows for any reason a back log of work occurs which means that there are times when it must work harder or toxins will spill over into the blood causing, amongst other things, toxaemia, laminitis, lympangitis etc
As it is the liver that breaks down harmful chemicals and poisons etc it is difficult to cure the liver with drugs neither is it that easy to detect slight or early impairment of one or more of its hundreds of functions. What is possible is to stimulate, cajole and protect by feeding L94. This wonderful stalwart never ceases to amaze horse owners by the way it picks horse up, this is because it helps the most amazing bodily organ – the liver.
