MAGLYTE
For feeding to horses and Ponies to make up for a dietary Mg deficiency or imbalance. To replace cellular Mg lost as a result of stress. To provide an available source of Mg when Mg status is impaired by certain conditions prevailing in the grazing and in the roughage portion of the diet.
When dietary levels of Mg are low, when grazing spring and autumn grass, during stress due to change or sudden cold. When horses exhibit uncharacteristic behaviour, are grumpy and spook easily. Feed to youngstock 4 days before, during and 4 days after feed, routine or management change. Adequate dietary levels Mg play an essential part is helping to prevent laminitis and poor hoof integrity.
MAGLYTE is a valuable source of essential Magnesium provided in two forms to help create receptor sites in the upper and lower parts of the intestinal tract and help maintain osmotic balance and temperament in times of stress.
SPECIAL NOTE-: Maglyte can be of help in stabilising gut pH and maintaining osmotic pressure, changes of which are a major factor in the onset of Laminitis. Due to inappropriate adrenocorticotropic hormone output it is often worthwhile feeding one spoon per day of Maglyte to horses suffering from Cushing's disease. Magnesium deficiency includes nervousness, muscular tremors and weakness, undue sweating and hard breathing. Dependant on degrees of stress a sharp drop in serum magnesium levels can often be detected within 24 to 48 hours following a drop in dietary Mg levels. In foals it can lead to lungs, spleen, skeletal muscle degeneration and loss of Mg from the bone and differing areas of the same bone.
