Comfrey
Comfrey is an herbaceous perennial hardy. The 1 inch root is black on the outside, white in the middle and is mucilaginous. The lanceolate to ovate leaves can reach 10 inches long, deep green and covered with fine hairs. The tubular flowers are either blue, yellow or white about 1/2 inch long born on short racemes. The plant as a whole can reach up to 5 feet in height.
